Finca El Porvenir (Hermanos)

Hermanos roasters specialise in Colombian coffee and do not shy from promoting coffee that may surprise you. How many roasters would offer coffee with a strong mint note? If you like a challenge and surprise, Hermanos will have something for you.

What if you wanted something less challenging though? You could do worse than Finca El Porvenir. It is one of those coffees that truly offer low and pleasant acidity that will appeal even to those who do not like acidity in coffee. And that’s a good thing.

Best balance of notes is achieved at grind setting 2, while setting the grinder to 1 will emphasise the green apple note. At grind setting 3 the balance falls apart, not recommended. Both grind settings 2 and 1 produce a nice green apple note aftertaste that doesn't hang around for too long making you want to drink more of it. Which you can, because it does not have a caffeine hit and is a joy to drink over and over again. Requires heavy tamping or a dose increase to 20g to achieve optimal extraction.
